Customization
When racquets are manufactured, they are made within tolerances. These tolerances may vary quite a lot and racquets of the same model will test and feel different. Most of the touring pros play with customized racquets. These players make their living with tennis and they demand that their racquets are exactly the way they want them. Players of all levels benefit from their racquets customized to their individual needs. Even at levels below touring professionals, no one wants to have their favorite racquet string break in the middle of a match only to go to your bag and get a racquet that feels different.
Sometimes a player needs to "tweak" a favorite racquet to make it feel right. Perhaps your game has changed and you need to shift the balance or need a heavier racquet to fit your game. It could be as simple as adding a bit of weight to the frame, but without knowing exactly where to add it, you can't optimize the frame for your game. You can customize your own racquets but without the proper training, you won't be able to get them to exact standards. That's where my training as a Master Racquet Technician and experience can help you get your racquet to match your abilities, wants and needs.
Customization can include:
1) increasing total weight of the racquet
2) increasing the torsion stability
3) changing the sweetspot location
4) changing the balance point (changing from/to head light from head heavy)
5) changing the swingweight of the racquet
6) changing the grip size
7) matching the specs of an old racquet after switching to a new one
Please note: customization can not change the stiffness or other playing characteristics inherent to a frame.
In addition, if you have several racquets, Advantage Stringing change "match" each racquet to each other. Swingweight, balance and overall weight of the racquet is included in the matching process.
The customization process is as follows:
1) I will evaluate the racquet's weight, swingweight and balance and record it
2) Depending on what you are trying to acheive, I will add weight at exact locations to change any one or all of swingweight, total weight or balance using a computer program telling me exactly where to add weight.
3) Your racquet(s) are customized to your specifications.
4) You playtest your racquet and if not satisfied, I will "tweak" it up to 3 additional times at no additional charge.
5) After you are satisfied, I will record your numbers for future reference.
6) You kick butt on the tennis court!
There are 2 services offered:
1) Individual frame customized to your specifications including swingweight, overall weight and balance.
2) Matching of several racquets of the same make and model for swingweight, overall weight and balance.
